The photography classes I had the chance to take growing up were inspiring, yet narrow-minded. Photo history is filled with a very specific demographic, since cameras were not affordable in the past. I wanted to create a class focusing on the student’s unique identity, and their mission in photography. Showcasing a diverse array of young photographers in the modern age help empower students to see the impact of photography for all people, and how they can take that power to make a change in the world. The students were so receptive and intrigued by how multilayered photography can be.
