A trailblazing moment for AAPI filmmakers and artists

When the first foreign-language film won the Oscar for best picture in 2020, I celebrated along with fellow Asian American creatives, for this moment had set forth a shift in what was normalized on the big screen. A win for the first foreign-language film is a win for all of us, who hope to share our authentic stories using languages authentic to us.
